Inicio / / Ausangate Trek & Rainbow Mountain - 3 Days
Ausangate is the most important sacred snow peak in the Cusco region, revered as an "Apu" (mountain deity) by Quechua communities since ancient times. The circuit around its base, above 5,000 metres, offers landscapes of breathtaking beauty: turquoise lakes, herds of alpacas and vicuñas, and direct views of the glacier. The route also includes a visit to the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), discovered by the outside world only in 2015.

Day 2 — Base Camp → Highest Pass (5,150 m) → Pampa Cañahuay: The highest and most spectacular stage. Crossing the 5,150 m pass with glacier views. Natural hot springs. Camp on the pampa. Distance: 14 km.
